Swartvlei Equestrian Estate offers 5 self-catering cottages as well as a Manor house, and is situated 15 km from Sedgefield, on South Africa's Garden Route (Please note it is a gravel road to the farm).
If you need a break from the rush of everyday responsibilities, our guest farm is just the place to be. All guests have access to our swimming pool, tennis court and clubhouse. Although our units are self-catering, we do offer a lovely breakfast on request. Ask us for more information on activities in the area, including abseiling, rock climbing, dune challenges, birdwatching, canoeing, fishing.
Farm Stay Accommodation on the Garden Route
Swartvlei Equestrian Estate is a guest farm with 5 self-catering cottages and a manor house. Meal options are available on request.
Luxury Cottages
We offer 5 self-catering Cottages, equipped with en-suite bathrooms (shower and bath), a kitchenette, flat screen TV with satellite channels, and free Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are provided. Each cottage has, a small dining table, and chairs. We also have a fully equip communal kitchen available to all our Luxury Cottage guests.
Rock Climbing
There are two climbing sections; Main-Crag and Hidden Buttress on Swartvlei Equestrian Estate. A day fee of R150 per person is payable. Access has to be arranged and an indemnity form need to be completed at the office before attempting the climb.
These two climbing sections boast 12 amazing 20-25m meter climbing routes that consist of skin-friendly yet coarse sandstone with great friction. There is something for everyone, from the beginner to the very experienced.
The climbs range from grade 15/4c (Large holds and vertical rock face) through to
grade 24/6a (Small holds with horizontal overhangs).
Keith James discovered the routes in 1987. The routes have since been retro-bolted.
It is of the utmost importance that the property is respected when climbing this destination.

There are lovely fishing spots. We have fishing rods to rent.

Beervlei route: experience the plantations and natural bush with beautiful views over the Swartvlei on this 2 hour trip

Southlands route: an 1 hour trip along side the lake and through the plantations
Cost: R150 per person
RELAXATION
Secretariat room is equip with full DSTV, a Snooker table, foosball and dartboard. There is a lovely braai area which also have a outside pizza oven.
Wedding and Function Venue on the Garden Route
Swartvlei Equestrian Estate features a well appointed meeting and conference room on the Garden Route. The area is perfect for company events like conferences, meetings, or team building experiences, though can be converted into a beautiful setting for a small countryside wedding.
Swartvlei Equestrian Estate can accommodate up to 60 people for a wedding or function. We also provide catering for functions. You are welcome to do your own catering, we have 2 full equipped kitchens.
